JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 24-year-old woman has been killed this Thanksgiving Day in Northwest Jacksonville. Her ex-boyfriend is accused of shooting her, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Rolisha Thomas and Calvin Wright, both 24, were arguing Thursday after Thomas said she was breaking up with Wright, according to Sgt. Shawn Coursey.
Coursey said several shots were fired by Wright, hitting Thomas. She was rushed to Shands Jacksonville hospital but didn't survive.
It happened outside a home in the 1100 block of Almeda Street near West 2nd Street in Northwest Jacksonville and was witnessed by several family members.
Police are searching for Wright who was recently released from prison.
