GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- First Coast News has obtained the 911 call the wife of Glynn County Commissioner Tom Sublett made just hours before his body was found.

Carol Sublett called police around 2:30 a.m. December 11 after her husband did not return home from a gathering at a friend's house. That call prompted police to start a search. Around 6 a.m. that day Tom Sublett's body was found floating beside a docked boat in the Frederica River on St. Simons Island.

During the 911 call Carol Sublett said, "My husband is not home and he went and played cards with friends and they stopped at 10:30 and I called where they played. He also took a friend and they met at 341 at Winn Dixie and they dropped each other and went their separate ways there, and I know that he doesn't drink. He's not an alcoholic. He doesn't run around. He is a county commissioner, and he's not home, and I don't know what to do. I can't get him on his cell phone."

Glynn County Coroner Jimmy Durden told First Coast News that Tom Sublett's hands were bound with zip ties and that he had been shot in the head before he drowned. Monday Durden said he was still waiting to hear from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Medical Examiner to determine whether Sublett's death is ruled a suicide and homicide.  He was told that determination could take days.

The Glynn County Commission may discuss this week adding more money to the $25,000 reward being offered by police for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Investigators have not named any suspects.

If you have any information that can help solve this case call the Glynn County Silent Witness number at 912-264-1333.
