SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A school bus crash Wednesday morning sent 48 students to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The crash happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of US 90 and 74th Street, according to a traffic crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The report said 18-year-old Brandon Cunningham was driving his 2002 Chevrolet SUV east on US 90.
At the same time, a Suwannee County school bus was stopped with its warning lights engaged as children boarded the bus, the report said.
The report said Cunningham's SUV rear-ended the bus. All of the students were seated at the time of the crash, the report said.
Emergency personnel transported the 48 students on board to Shands Live Oak as a precautionary measure.
The report said the children attend various schools and ranged in age from elementary to high school age students.
