JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An 18-year-old who pleaded guilty to armed robbery in August was sentenced to 40 years in prison this week.
Matthew Johnson, 18, pleaded guilty in August to seven armed robberies and one unarmed robbery, according to a news release from State Attorney Angela Corey's office.
The release said Johnson used both a handgun and a BB gun to rob seven people from January to February 2012.
During the crimes, the release said Johnson took the victims' wallets and other personal items.
The release said Johnson also admitted to snatching a 13-year-old's backpack.
