JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An 87-year-old woman who suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia reported missing Thursday night has been found in Brevard County.
Donna Sponzo Tofflemire was last seen around 9:30 Thursday evening near Philips Highway and I-95, according to a news release from Shannon Hartley, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Hartley said Tofflemire was seen driving a white Toyota Avalon, Florida license plate J73 5WL.
She has been reported missing twice in the past. Police said one of those times she was found in her vehicle near the Avenues Mall. That time she was taken to the hospital for treatment from heat exhaustion. Hartley said the second time she disappeared she was found in Ponte Vedra.
Friday afternoon Hartley said Tofflemire was found by authorities in Brevard County. Her family is en route to pick her up.
