PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Three people were arrested on New Year's Eve after Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies said they found 42.3 grams of methamphetamine and $790 in cash during a traffic stop.

A deputy observed a silver Mercedes SUV allegedly drifting over a center line and sideswiping a curb several times, according to a release from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and discovered that the tag on the vehicle was registered to a different vehicle, a white Chevrolet, the report states. They also learned that the driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Manual Angel Rolon, had a suspended license.

Upon further investigation, deputies allegedly discovered a clear plastic baggy with white powder and $790 in Rolon's pocket, the release details. According to CCSO, the powder tested positive for methamphetamine.

Deputies also said they noticed a plastic baggy sticking out of the top of 20-year-old passenger, Dodie Allyson Albritton's bra.  Inside the baggy, deputies said they found more methamphetamine.

Albritton's one-year-old daughter was in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, and while deputies were searching the vehicle they said they found 1.7 grams of methamphetamine inside one of the infant's shoes as well as in her mother's purse, which was within the infant's reach.

Another passenger, Bret Alexander Rule, 29, was in the back seat of the Mercedes next to the child in her baby seat, and was allegedly observed hiding yet another plastic baggy under his right thigh, according to the release.

All three were transported to the Charlotte County Jail.

Deputies charged Rolon and Albritton with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rolon was also charged with driving while his license was suspended, and he is currently being held with bond set at $202,500. According to CCSO, this is the eighth booking for Rolon.  Albritton is currently being held on a $72,500 bond.

Rule was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and he is being held on a $6,500 bond.

The father of the one-year-old was called to the scene and took custody of the child and CCSO has asked the Department of Children and Families to investigate.
