SEATTLE -- Rescue workers are on their second day of searching for a skydiver from Lake City who is missing near Mount Si in the Cascade Foothills near Seattle, Washington.

Crews are searching for 29-year-old Lake City resident Kurt Ruppert Jr.

Ruppert was last seen Thursday afternoon when he was jumped out of a helciopter.

ABC-affiliate KOMO reported the King County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Cindi West said the man was wearing a "squirrel suit" with fabric under the arms to fly through the air so he could have landed over a wide area.

KOMO reported Ruppert and two other skydivers were taking turns jumping out of the chartered helicopter Thursday afternoon.

The other skydivers were waiting in the landing zone, but did not see Ruppert jump because the helicopter was behind a ridge.  The pilot said Ruppert jumped from an altitude of 6,500 feet.

No one saw a parachute and Ruppert did not show up, KOMO reported.

First Coast News reporter Mike Lyons stopped by the home of Ruppert's parents in Lake City Friday night, Kurt Ruppert Sr. and Mary Ruppert. A family member answered the door and said they did not want to talk on camera. They did say they did not have many details and "were hoping for the best."
