McMillan went missing during a field trip to Haven Horse Ranch on County Road 208 after he allegedly kicked out a bathroom window Friday afternoon.

Deputies searched the World Golf Village area, down to Interstate 95 and State Road 16.

According to Lt. Jeff Munday from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, McMillan took a cab from St. Johns County to Inverness, Fla., which is about two and a half hours away.

The 16-year-old left the taxi without paying his the $275 cab fare, said Munday. The cab driver then called police at 8:50 p.m. Friday.

Deputies determined it was probably McMillan and began to search the area.

A K-9 tracked down the teenager in a wooded area where he was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Munday said. McMillan now faces a charge for escape.
