PALATKA, Fla. -- A Putnam County man is behind bars after being accused of stealing approximately $1,400 of honey from a produce stand.
The owner of the produce stand at 303 East State Road noticed honey jars were going missing and installed security cameras.
According to a Facebook post from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the cameras allegedly caught 48-year-old Ruben James Josey taking multiple jars of honey from the produce stand without paying for them.
Detective Chris Gay stated, "The surveillance cameras were the key to positively identifying Ruben Josey and his vehicle."
Detectives with the PCSO obtained a search warrant for Josey's home and allegedly located several items which were used in the crime and items which belonged to the victim, according to the post.
Det. Gay added "There are four different cases involving R. Josey and additional charges are forthcoming."
Josey is charged with burglary and grand theft and is currently being held in the Putnam County Jail on a $10,008 bond.
