JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A woman driving in the 1700 block of McQuade Street crashed her car after being shot at.
Tracie Hoover claims she was driving on McQaude Street Wednesday night when her white Buick Le Sabre was hit by gunshots, according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO Sgt. Bobby Lyle stated on scene Hoover was driving West, crossing near railroad tracks when a car traveling in the opposite direction shot into her Buick.
After the shooting, Hoover backed into a JEA pole and the car caught fire, according to Lyle. 20-year-old Hoover allegedly fled the Buick and took refuge in a nearby church after she was hit.
One witness told JSO she heard gunshots and saw Hoover's car catch on fire. Another witness claims she heard a transformer blow, but did not see anything during the incident, according to the report.
Hoover suffered minor injuries during the incident and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
At this time, police do not have a motive or a suspect or vehicle description. An investigation is underway.
