JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators need help with solving two home burglaries in which a door-to-door salesman distracted homeowners while their houses were ransacked Tuesday on the Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The burglaries are believed to be part of a growing trend which has the Sheriff's Office concerned, according to Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley. The salesman in both cases was reportedly selling lawn care services.

Between 12:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the two Westside homes, one in the 300 block of N. Cahoon Road and the second in 1600 block of Jones Road, were burglarized.

Police are looking for a male suspect possibly mid 20s to mid 30s in age, between 5'4" and 5'8" tall, weighing between 130-165 lbs, and was driving a white or gray SUV.

These two incidences match another case which happened in the past few months on the Westside involving the same suspect description targeting retirees using the same ruse.

Anyone with any information about the location or identity of the unknown suspect is asked to contact First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
