CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Clay County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service were able to control a Fleming Island fast-moving wildfire that was threatening 15 homes on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire near Country Side Drive and Ripple Creek Lane was called into 911 at 1:49 p.m., according to a release from CCFR Deputy Fire Chief David Motes.
CCFR firefighters, along with the Florida Forest Service, were able to have the fire under control at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Motes said. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire, which will continue to be monitored by the Florida Forest Service, is not known at this time.
