JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have made an arrest in a local cockfighting ring.
According to our news partner the Florida Times-Union, 50-year-old Timothy Wayne Tomlinson of Jacksonville was charged with animal baiting after more than two dozen mutilated roosters were found tied in cages at a Westside home.
Tomlinson was charged with 10 counts of using an animal for fighting or for baiting another animal.
The warrant police used said the roosters used for fighting were "tortured to make them aggressive and given stimulants to increase endurance."
