ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- One person is dead in an accident involving two motorcyclists and a truck.
Two of three motorcyclists that were traveling together on U.S. 1 Thursday night collided with a truck Thursday night, according to a release from St. Johns County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Matthew Sara.
When the St. Johns County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, they found two of the riders that had made contact with the truck. One rider was pronounced dead on the scene and the other suffered minor injuries and was treated.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 1 South in the area of Interstate 95 blocked by a moving truck when rescue personnel arrived.
According to reports, the motorcyclist that was found dead was not wearing a helmet. Those involved in the accident have not yet been identified.
This accident is still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol and the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
