JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A mother and daughter who were thought to have been kidnapped on Thursday night have been found safe.
Officers responded to Mayer Drive on Thursday night after a woman called police saying she had
just received a call from her sister, who said she had been
kidnapped, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Sean Coarsey told First Coast News on Thursday.
Both the mother and her 12-year-old daughter were located at a safe place in another county, according to JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
JSO asked law enforcement in the area to verify that the two were OK.
It is no longer being investigated as a kidnapping, as the police determined that she left of her own will, Bujeda said.
