JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have identified a man who died after his vehicle overturned into a retention pond.
Daniel A. Parker, 29, lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on Bartram Park Boulevard, according to a release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
Parker drove over a curb, through a fence and his vehicle overturned into a retention pond.
Three police officers and several citizens worked to free Parker, who was wearing a seat belt, from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, Bujeda said.
