MIAMI-DADE, Florida -- A helicopter carrying two people crashed in a Southwest Miami-Dade parking lot Wednesday afternoon.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials tell our sister station CBS4 News that the chopper crashed near the intersection of 130 Street & 124 Avenue just after 4 p.m.
Aerial footage shows two bodies covered in yellow tarps.
Witnesses say the helicopter came down in a parking lot after clipping a palm tree.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Kathleen Bergen said the Robinson R44 helicopter had just taken off from Tamiami Airport before it crashed.
This is the second deadly crash in South Florida over the past month. Back in March, a plane crashed into a parking lot shortly after taking off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, killing all three people on board.
