JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Hundreds of runners will lace up their sneakers Monday night to support people in Boston.

1st Place Sports is hosting a 3 to 5 mile "fun run" at 6:30 starting at its location at the St. Johns Town Center on the south side.

The run is free and open to the public, but funds are being raised to support the One Fund set up by officials following last week's deadly bombings.

You can contribute by purchasing a "Runners for Boston" t-shirt for $20. They're available at all 1st Place Sports locations.

The athletics store had close friends and colleagues at the Boston Marathon this year, so owner Doug Alred said the bombings hit close to home.

Alred said it is also important for Monday's free run to show the running community stands united with those suffering in Boston.

"I'm sure all runners feel the same way I do. I wasn't there, but I still kind of feel violated. This is our event. We can't have people doing things like that at running events," Alred explained.

So far, around 400 people have pledged their support for the run.

That includes people who plan to run and people who are just buying shirts.

Alred said $10,000 has already been raised for the One Fund in Boston.
