3 teens involved in ATV crash

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Three teens were involved in a ATV crash Sunday afternoon in Columbia County. 

The driver of a Polaris Ranger ATV, who was 14 years old according to the Florida Highway Patrol, was traveling west on SW Zierke Glen in Lake City around 2:30 p.m.

There were also two passengers aboard the ATV, ages 16 and 14. 

While navigating a curve, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. 

The 14-year-old passenger, who was not wearing his seatbelt according to FHP, was thrown from the vehicle. He sustained serious head and face injuries and was transported to Shands UF. 

The 14-year-old driver and the 16-year-old passenger were both wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries.
