UPDATE, 5/9/13, 4:30 p.m.: The body found has been identified by police as Kimberly Davis, 38. According to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda, foul play is suspected.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The body of a woman was found in the garage of a vacant home in a mid-Westside neighborhood late Wednesday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating the home in the 1500 block of West 7th Street.

Officers were called to the area around 10 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a possible body in the area, according to Sgt. T.K. Waters of the JSO homicide unit.

Authorities say they don't know who the woman is, how she got where she was found or how she died.

Waters said there are no apparent wounds to the woman's body and the investigation will be a "slow, long, steady process," and police are still trying to gather information.
