GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Multiple federal and state agencies executed warrants at V & J Store, Green Cove Wireless and more and a laundromat located in a Green Cove Springs shopping center early Thursday.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, five people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an organized theft ring.
Authorities said the investigation began in June 2011 after information was gathered by the GCSPD and during several undercover operations, the suspects allegedly purchased stolen merchandise.
A joint investigation by the Green Cove Springs Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Office, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations and Target Special Investigations led to the arrests.
Abas Issa, 45, Yousef Issa, 41, Antoun Arbaji, 35, Emad Abduljaber, 46, and George Salameh, 54, were all arrested.
The businesses are owned and operated by Abas Issa and Yousef Issa.
