Clay deputy collies with bicyclist

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A Clay County Sheriff's Office deputy collided with a 75-year-old bicycle rider Monday morning, sending the rider to the hospital.

Orange Park resident Ronald D. Ramsey was crossing Blanding Boulevard on his bike in the crosswalks at Arora Street around 8:00 a.m. when the patrol cruiser collided with him according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The deputy was trying to make a right turn off Arora onto Blanding.

Ramsey was taken to Orange Park Medical Center for treatment.

The deputy driving the cruiser, 47-year-old Ray Kittles, was uninjured.
