ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- UPDATE: Flagler Hospital has been given the 'all clear' by the SJSO bomb squad. Operations at the hospital have not been hindered.
A robot removed the black bag from the emergency room, according to SJSO. The bag contained duct tape and wires. The investigation is ongoing.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad has been sent to Flagler Hospital to investigate a suspicious package in the Emergency Room.
According to Margaret Barnett, who was sitting in the ER, a man dressed in black walked into the ER around 8:30 p.m. carrying a black bag.
Barnett said the man dropped the bag off, and immediately left the hospital.
Two people sitting in the waiting room noticed the man dropping the bag and notified officials on duty at the hospital.
Five minutes later, the hospital was evacuated, according to Barnett.
SJSO Bomb Squad, Hazmat, S.W.A.T. were dispatched to investigate, according to SJSO Sgt. Chuck Mulligan.
