FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has issued a precautionary boil water notice, according to a FCSO Facebook post.
The FCSO post states that due to the loss of pressure in portions of the water distribution system, the city of Palm Coast has issued a Precautionary Water Boil Notice to certain areas of Palm Coast. The loss of pressure is reportedly the result of an 8 inch broken gate valve affecting an area including 20 homes.
The affected areas are reported as Waterside Parkway, Riverlanding Way and Riverlanding Drive.
"As a result, the bacteriological quality of water in this part of the system is questionable. Accordingly, we have notified the customers and we recommend that all water used in the affected areas for consumption and cooking purposes be boiled at a rolling for for a minimum of one minute," the FCSO Facebook post states.
This notification is in affect until further notice. As an alternate to boiling water, bottled water may be used.
The post stated that the work on repairs would start on May 21 at 9:00 a.m.
