ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Five people had to swim to a nearby island after the boat they were on started sinking near the Matanzas Inlet Friday night.
According to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Facebook page, the people are unhurt and were being rescued by a SJCFR vessel.
The people called SJCFR once they were onshore on one of the little islands in the Inlet, according to Jeremy Robshaw with SJCFR.
Robshaw said a Good Samaritan vessel may have picked them up and taken them to one of the isles.
