YULEE, Fla. -- A Nassau County Sheriff's Office deputy who recently served as a school resource officer at Yulee High School was fired from the department following his arrest last week.
Director Roy Henderson says Alan Manchester was informed of his termination on Thursday.
Manchester, 46, faces sexual battery and lewd and lascivious charges in connection with an incident that happened ten years ago.
In the arrest and booking report, Manchester allegedly confessed to investigators that he had a sexual relationship with a teenager. In the report, Manchester said it started when the victim was 15 years-old. He also said he father three children with the victim, with the second child born when the mother was 17 years-old.
The report does not say who initiated the investigation, but noted earlier this month a search warrant was issued for DNA.
Manchester, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, has been moved to the Baker County jail.
Manchester had been with the NCSO for 17 years. He is being held on bond set at $750,000.
