GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- For the second time in as many days, storms brought down trees on the First Coast.
This evening, Clay County Sheriff's Office deputies and Clay Fire Rescue and emergency management personnel responded to several reports of downed trees in the Green Cove Springs area.
Some of those trees landed on top of houses and power lines. Eleven homes in all were damaged by trees, one of which had major damage.
Power is still out in some areas. First Coast News spoke to one couple whose home was damaged in the storm, but they say it's their neighbors home that got hit even harder.
"The whole roof come down, ceiling, and hit the top of the roof. And the refrigerator and that's what stopped it from coming all the way down to the floor," said Delbert Hupp Sr.
"Thank God no one was hurt every body is safe and fine," said Ann Hubb.
If you live in that area and your home was damaged in the storm, you are encouraged to call Clay County Public Safety at 904-284-7703.
