Jacksonville woman leaves self-checkout, doesn't pay for everything

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Thursday for not paying for all her items in the self-checkout line at Walmart.

Laura Ross, 44, was charged with felony Grand Theft-Retail, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Inmate Information.

Ross went through the self-checkout line at the Walmart at 13227 City Station Drive and paid $40.76 for 17 items, according to a post on JSO's Facebook page.

Failing to scan 47 more items that cost a total of $354.05, Ross tried to leave the store when she was stopped store personnel.

She said she did not realize that she hadn't scanned the items.

Ross' bond is $503 and her next court date is set for July 3 at 9 a.m.
