JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Eight hours after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office sought the public's assistance in finding a suspect in a hit-and-run that left two-year-old Janya Solomon dead on Sunday, police apprehended a suspect Monday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has placed Serdarus Scott, 34, under arrest and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash that results in a fatality.

Serdarus was located at the Royal Estates Apartments on 8050 Arlington Expressway.
JSO received numerous tips from the public while searching for the suspect.
Serdarus is being interviewed by Traffic Homicide Detectives.
On Tuesday, his total bond was set at $250,006. His next court date is set for July 24.
