ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A man is in jail after allegedly possessing and/or selling counterfeit items, including "Leave it to Beaver" DVDs and iPhone cases.

Tyrone Pierre Lewis, 29, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of possession of counterfeit products and selling counterfeit products, according to a release from St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.

Lewis was initially investigated in April 2012 by Homeland Security Investigations and was warned three times to stop dealing in counterfeit goods.

Two packages addressed to Lewis in a fictitious name from a counterfeit dealer in China were intercepted by HSI and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday, the release detailed.

After the packages were found to contain 148 counterfeit Lifeproof iPhone cases, a search warrant of Lewis' home was obtained. Lewis was allegedly selling these iPhone cases on e-commerce sites.

Detectives then found counterfeit DVDs, Nintendo DS games and more counterfeit iPhone cases.

"Counterfeit goods are often substandard products. We've seen Christmas lights that catch fire and medications composed of harmful chemicals," said Susan McCormick, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations Tampa. "Time and time again, we warn consumers, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is."

Lewis was released from the St. Johns County Jail after posting a $11,000 bond and made his first court appearance Wednesday morning.
