ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A St. Augustine man was stuck by a car while he was being chased by a pedestrian in St. Johns County on Saturday.
Around 10 a.m., Kyle Hurta, 24, was riding his bicycle near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Lewis Point Road.
He was involved in a "verbal confrontation" with pedestrian Matthew Hoskins, 45, of Charlotte, N.C., according to FHP.
Hoskins chased after Hurta, who went north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1.
Julie Prince, 21, of St. Augustine could not avoid hitting Hurta and her Nissan Versa collided with him, said FHP.
Hurta was flown to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition.
