JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bowing their heads to pray, Amber Bass' parents, sister and brother-in-law were surrounded by dozens who came together Friday night to remember a life cut short.

"I wish we were meeting under different circumstances but just the community in general out here, friends and family. It's just an overwhelming since of love," said Robin Lezcano

Lezcano found her sister's lifeless body in the driveway of the home they shared Friday, July 19th.

"She was just this ray of sunshine," said Lezcano. "Just come up with these quirky comments that would make us laugh and then turn into these inside jokes and nobody else knew what we were talking about but I guess that is just the bond of sisterhood."

Police say Amber was shot around 2:30 that morning in the 84-hundred block of Springtree Road in the Springtree Subdivision. Her gray purse with silver studs similar to the one in this sketch is missing.

Her family has posted these signs in her front yard to plea for information that will help track down her killer.

Her father says he has no idea why his daughter was targeted.

"We definitely need to find this person before someone else is a victim because we don't want to see this happen to anybody else," said Keith Bass.

Anyone who has any information about Bass' murder or the whereabouts of her purse is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500 or email To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000, contact First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
