HIALEAH, Fla. -- A 14-foot albino python was removed from a South Florida shed, where animal officials say it had been held up for a while.

Miami-Dade County's Anti-Venom unit removed the snake Sunday night from the shed in the back of a Hialeah home.

It took several people to carry the 100-pounder out. Lt. Lisa Wood with the anti-venom unit says there was snake skin as well as a skull inside the shed.

Neighbors say some rabbits and a cat have gone missing recently, "so the snake may be to blame for that." It's not immediately clear what will happen to the snake.

Florida prohibits owning or selling pythons for use as pets, and federal law bans importation and interstate sale of the species.
