MARIETTA, Ga. -- The trial for the Brunswick teenager charge in the murder of a toddler enters its second week.
De'Marquise Elkins is charged with shooting and killing 13-month-old Antonio Santiago.
The state called about a dozen witnesses in the first week of the trial. One of those is co-defendant Dominque Lang.
There are still about 20 more witnesses the state will call. Santiago's mother Sherry West is one of them. She is expected to take the stand sometime early this week.
After all of the state's witnesses are called, the defense will call their witnesses. Testimony from witnesses for the defense is not expected take as long as the state's.
The trial was moved to Marietta because of pre-trial publicity.
