Tennis foundation burglary may be part of crime spree

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An unknown man burglarized a vehicle owned by the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation early Sunday morning. 

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the crime could be connected to similar burglaries in the area. 

Around 5:31 a.m. Sunday, an unknown suspect damaged and stole a stereo from a vehicle parked at the kids foundation located at 1096 W. 6th St. 

The suspect appears to be wearing a white glove on his left hand, a black glove on his right hand and a white shirt covering his face.

He can also be seen carrying a sledgehammer.

Other crimes in the area had characteristics similar to the Sunday crime, including damage to windows and locks that may have been caused by a sledgehammer. 

This suspect, seen in the video above, is a person of interest in the additional burglaries and investigators are exploring the possibility that the suspect may live in the area.
