BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- The search is on for a man accused of attempted murder who cut off his GPS monitor in Brevard County.

An accused sex offender's whereabouts were unknown Monday, and Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies welcome help from the public in finding him.

Deputies said Keith Weber slipped out of his ankle monitor Thursday afternoon in the area of the Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach.

Weber has been monitored since 2011, and accused of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. He was scheduled to make a plea on Monday.

Deputies said they are not sure if he's armed, but he's considered dangerous.
