ATLANTA -- Georgia State University is offering a free bankruptcy assistance and practice program for families struggling to overcome debt.
Aside from the public service element of the program, officials say the session on Sept. 24 is also aimed at giving law students the opportunity to develop practical skills.
Organizers say representatives from the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Georgia State School of Law and other organizations will explain foreclosures, loan modifications and other bankruptcy procedures.
Representatives will meet with participants individually who may be looking for resources to help them navigate the bankruptcy process.
Participants are asked to RSVP to GSUBankruptcygmail.com by Sept. 23.
