ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- It's been months in the making.

Over 15,000 people traveled to St. Augustine just for the Gentleman of the Road concert.

The locals who are attending, say they could not be more proud of their city tonight.

"They said we couldn't do it and we did it," St. Augustine resident Chris Smith said.

The 2-day extravaganza began with a string of bands taking the stage Friday and Saturday pumping up crowds for the big headliner. Even with one of the bigger bands, FUN, pulling out at last minute, the Gentlemen on the Road Stopover tour surprised the crowd with a performance by John Fogherty.

"They didn't mess up anything everything was absolutely perfectly planned this has gone on without a hitch, everybody is having a blast this is amazing," Smith said.

Chris Smith is a local and says he's proud of St. Augustine from the planning to the security on site. The concert it expected to have a $10 to $15 million economic impact on St Johns County, according to concert promoters.
