GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after injuring his right ankle Saturday.
Driskel will need surgery after a tackle in the first quarter against Tennessee sent him to the locker room, coach Will Muschamp said after the game.
Muschamp said junior Tyler Murphy, who replaced Driskel, will now be the starter for the Gators.
Marlon Walls pulled Driskel to the ground as he threw the ball. Driskel tried to get up, but then dropped back to the turf and called for trainers.
He could be seen on the sidelines on crutches later in the game.
Murphy finished the game 8/14 for 134 yards and one touchdown.
