The Florida Times-Union reports a Jacksonville woman tried to run across 103rd Street about 1:20 p.m. Sunday and was struck by a car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 61-year-old woman was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition, the Highway Patrol said.
Raymond F. Vearil, 83, and Sybil Vearil, 80, were heading west on 103rd in the center near Wesconnett Drive lane when the woman ran in front of their Ford Crown Victoria, the Highway Patrol said.
They weren't injured.
The woman hit by the car wasn't crossing in a crosswalk, the Highway Patrol said.
