FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. -- A group of suspects, believed to be family, is sought in connection to a purse stolen on August 24.

According to a Clay County Sheriff's Office press release, after meeting a friend for lunch an elderly woman accidentally left her purse at a Burger King at 4319 Highway 17 in Fleming Island. She returned moments later and it was gone.

CCSO believe a family sitting in a booth next to the victim is responsible for allegedly stealing the purse. According to the release, an older man wearing blue jeans and blue shirt removed the victim's purse and concealed it with the help of at least one of the woman prior to leaving the restaurant.

The victim's credit cards were used at two separate locations in Green Cove Springs shortly afterwards, the release states.

A woman approximately the same age as the man and a younger man and woman were with the suspect.

Anyone who has information about the incident or who may be able to assist the CCSO in identifying the suspects contact Detective Michael Layne at 904-264-6512.
