UPDATE, 9/25/13, 7:15 p.m.: Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is no longer investigating the incident as a possible abduction.

The elderly man just likes to give away stuffed animals, according JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.

The man has no previous criminal history and he is not a registered sex offender, Bujeda said.

The location of the child is still unknown and JSO is asking the parents to contact JSO.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 14-year-old who may have witnessed an abduction alerted police of the situation Wednesday.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, around 3:30 p.m. the 14-year-old witnessed an elderly man lure the child into the car with a stuffed animal near the Wilson Boulevard and Aldington Drive.

The alleged child victim is a white male between 6-8 years old, wearing white and black clothing and a Spider-man backpack.

The 14-year-old yelled at the child to run, say police.

JSO was able to locate the car and the child was not in the car. The elderly man has been detained and is being questioned by police.

There have been no reports at this time of missing child, according to JSO.

JSO is asking anyone who has seen the child, or may not know where this child is, to call police.
