Three men allegedly take about $9,000 worth of cigarettes

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Suspects smash truck into Lil Sammy's Citgo store Thursday morning stealing close to $9,000 worth of cigarettes.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office press release, the suspects drove into the front doors of the store around 3:30 a.m.

Officers responded to the alarm at 600 S. Charles R Beall Boulevard. When they arrived to the scene, officials noticed the glass doors shattered.

The release states that the store's surveillance video allegedly showed a light colored mid-1990's Dodge Dakota extended cab pickup truck ram into the doors. Three men, who appear to be in their 20s, wore long sleeved shirts and had their faces covered by a mask or clothes.

They allegedly placed approximately 148 cartons of cigarettes into garbage bags before leaving the scene.

The store's damage is estimated at $30,000.

Anyone with information about the robbery or recognizes the vehicle is asked to contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Office at 386-668-3830 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at 888-277-TIPS. Residents can also text a tip by texting "TIP231 plus the message" to CRIMES. Tipsters who provide information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
