JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is offering security tips for local business owners following a rash of burglaries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is currently investigating six burglaries to Asian style restaurants since September 20, according to a release from JSO.

The burglaries have occurred in the late night and early morning hours at each business in various locations including the Arlington-Regency area, Baymeadows Road and North Main Street.

The suspects are making forced entry through the rear doors and taking cash and other items of value, the release detailed.

Some safety tips to help prevent yourself from being a victim are:

  • Make sure all outside entrances and inside security doors have deadbolt locks. If you use padlocks, they should be made of steel and kept locked at all times.
  • All outside or security doors should be metal-lined and secured with metal security crossbars.
  • Light the inside and outside of your business, especially around doors, windows, skylights, or other entry points.
  • Keep your cash register in plain view from the outside of your business, so it can be monitored by police during the day or at night. Leave it open and empty after closing.

Anyone who has any information about these burglaries is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.

To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000 for this case, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
