BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- The prosecution and the defense rested Tuesday in the murder trial of Guy Heinze Jr. after a day filled with haunting crime scene photos.

"There's a substantial amount of blood evidence," said Michael Knox.

Knox took jurors room by room, looking at the evidence left at the scene. For the second time in this trial, the pictures were so graphic, some family members of the victim turned their heads.

Knox focused his testimony on blood spatter.  That's where blood from a victim can goes. Jurors saw several pictures with lots of spatter on the wall, even the ceiling in the rooms where victims were killed.

"This is not the typical kind of crime scene that you deal with because of the sheer number of victims and the size of the crime scene," said Knox.

Jurors also heard from a forensic pathologist.  Dr. Jonathan Arden had a chance to look at autopsy photos.  He said the injuries, and the number of them on the victims, was like nothing he'd ever seen.

Arden said based on the injuries, he think it's likely more than one person was involved in the killings.

Closing arguments begin Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
