JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A car was struck by gunfire on an Eastside street early Thursday morning.
Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded a call near the 1900 block of Thelma Street, according to JSO.
The caller claimed to have been driving in the 1900 block of Thelma Street when shots were fired at the car from suspects on a porch.
The driver left the scene and called JSO, who met the victim at another location.
When detectives arrived on Thelma Street several cars were parked at the residence which was the source of the alleged gunfire.
The incident is now under investigation in the Fairfield neighborhood, near the Eastside.
At this point in the investigation, JSO is not sure if anyone in the car was injured and said it is possible someone may show up at UF Health Jacksonville in an hour or so with a gunshot wound.
