ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals were stuck in St. Louis Tuesday afternoon for several hours.
Ron Watermon, a spokesperson for the team, says the team charter plane was delayed due to mechanical issues. A second plane had to make its way to St. Louis to shuttle the team to Boston.
They lifted off around 8:10 p.m. and landed in Boston around 10:15 p.m.
The Cardinals are headed to Boston to play Game 6 of the World Series against the Red Sox. The Red Sox lead the series 3-2. If the Cardinals win Game 6 Wednesday night, they will play the final game Thursday.
