ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident at the Gourmet Hut Thursday morning.

At about 1:34 a.m., the SAPD received a call from the business owner, who was concerned someone may have been inside the building.

Police arrived and found a door dislodged from the bottom hinge, leaving enough room for someone to enter the business. According to a SAPD release, officers didn't see anyone inside through the windows and entered the building through the dislodged door.

Police didn't see anything disturbed, which the owner confirmed when she arrived a short time later.

According to the release, the owner doesn't keep cash anywhere in the business after hours.

An employee arrived and played the video surveillance system, which showed the front door moving for several minutes. At 12:20 a.m., a man was shown coming through the door then rummaging through the drawers and cabinets.

The area was dusted for fingerprints and a brown leather belt and photos of the crime scene were entered into evidence.

The suspect in the video was wearing light colored shorts, tennis shoes and a darker top. He had black crew cut style hair, balding on top and in front. The suspect also had a tattoo on his left upper arm.

There is no other information at this time. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477) and you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1000.00 from Northeast Florida Crime Stoppers.
