Motorcycle crash near FSCJ sends one to hospital

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A third motorcycle crash in less than 12 hours sends one to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred in the 10600 block of North Campus Boulevard near the Florida State College of Jacksonville North Campus when a motorcycle hit a Dodge Charger around 9 a.m.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Campus Boulevard as the Dodge Charger was exiting the east parking lot of Florida State College, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The 82-year-old female driver of the Dodge Charger failed to see the motorcycle approaching and pulled into the motorcycle's path, JSO detailed.

The 39-year-old motorcycle driver was ejected in the crash.

The driver of the Charger and her 13-year-old passenger were not injured in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway and charges could be pending against the 82-year-old driver.

The crash is under investigation and there is no indication of alcohol and drug involvement in the crash.

Charges for failure to yield are pending against the 82-year-old Doge driver.
