CALIFORNIA, Md. -- Authorities say a man tried to get a girl to get in his car and claimed he was a sheriff in D.C. before she noticed that he was masturbating in the car.
St. Mary's County authorities say deputies responded to the call on Wednesday at Chancellors Run Rd. in California, Md. They say the girl was walking there when a man stopped his vehicle next to the her and engaged her in conversation. He then pressuring her to get into his vehicle, telling the victim he was a sheriff in Washington D.C., according to authorities.
When she refused, authorities say the man told her to "look down." When she did, she saw him masturbating.
According to authorities a similar incident was reported on September 14 in the parking lot of First Colony Shopping Center. When a female approached the vehicle while engaged in conversation she also saw a man suspect seated in his vehicle masturbating.
Thursday, the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Miguel Angel Vasquez of Lexington Park. A warrant was executed on his house and vehicle, then he was taken into custody, say authorities.
Vasquez is charged with 2 counts of indecent exposure and is being held on $35,000 bond, according to authorities. More charges are pending a review by State's Attorney Richard Fritz.
